Note:
UV induced discoloration does permeate through the plastic over time. The
key is early treatment. While most of the cloudiness is on the
surface, severely discolored lens can not be brought back to optical
perfection. In the case of our nine year old Nissan, the improvement in
light transmission, after polishing, was enough to allow safe night
driving and save the customer $500.00 in replacement lens cost.
Note
#2: We've run into two instances where the car was repainted
and the body shop sprayed a clear coat over the plastic lens. This puts
the discoloration under the clear coat. This kit will not remove clear
coats. The only way to restore clarity to lens that have been clear
coated is to wet sand the clear coat off the lens and then polish the
plastic lens with this kit.
This kit contains
enough products to easily restore the lenses on two vehicles. Extra pads
and polishes are available below if needed to polish additional vehicles
or larger plastic surfaces.
