Ultra-Fuzzy Microfiber Wash
Mitt & Wash Pad.
Product review by Terry Freiberg
While most of the sample
products I receive for evaluation are good products, rarely does something
really knock my socks off. These did! The Ultra Fuzzy Microfiber Wash Mitt
and Wash Pad are head and shoulders better than any other wash products I've ever used. Our staff was actually fighting for the opportunity to
"test" these new mitts and pads.
So, what's the big deal?
First, each is made
from Microfiber so we know they will not scratch any painted or clear coated
finish. Microfiber is 100 times finer than a human hair. These strands are
woven into hundreds of "fingers" about one inch long, that cover both
sides of the mitt. These fingers hold mounds and mounds of soapy water. The mitt
literally glides across the surface, picking up every
particle of dirt and grime. This is the first product I've found that will give
a natural sea sponge a run for it's money. I used both the Ultra-Fuzzy Mitt and
the Ultra-Fuzzy Pad to wash a black vehicle that was covered with sand. Not one washing swirl!
The Ultra-Fuzzy Microfiber
Wash Pad measures 8-1/2 inches by 4 inches by 2-1/4 inches thick yet is still
easy to grip. Like the Ultra-Fuzzy Mitt, the pad holds mounds of soapy water,
glides across the finish and is safe for clear-coat finishes. The unique feature
of the pad is a scrubbing mesh on the back side of the pad. This is great for
removing stubborn grime and bug residues. I used this mesh quite aggressively on
a neighbor's red RV that was caked with insect smear and did not notice any haze
or scratches.
| I start with
the one mitt to clean my car's wheels. I like the fact that I
can reach behind the spokes to clean parts of the wheel that I could never
reach with a brush. I also use this mitt to clean the exhaust tips.
The mitt measures 8-1/2
inches wide by 11 inches long. There is no thumb pocket so it's easy to
rotate on your hand to expose a clean area. |

|
| After washing
the wheels, I make a fresh bucket of soapy water and use the Ultra-Pad to wash the rest of my car.
This keeps any metallic brake dust particles on the previous mitt or in
the wash water from scratching my car's finish.
You could also use s
second mitt for washing the car. I prefer the pad because it gives me the
scrubbing mesh to remove bug grime. |

|
I talk about using these products on cars but they are
equally suitable for washing trucks, boats and RV's. I've even used the
wash mitt to wash my Harley Davidson. I thought the fingers might get
snagged on some of the engine nooks and crannies but I didn't have any
problems.
After washing, I rinse
both the mitt and the pad with a garden hose, squeeze out excess water and
allow them to air dry. Brake dust will stain the fibers which is why I
dedicate the mitt for wheel cleaning.
If these products become
excessively dirty, they can be machine washed with
Micro Restore Microfiber Cleaner.
